What is EPiC Summer Youth Camp?
EPiC Summer Youth Camp is the result of many conversations, much listening, and more praying. The NextGen Committee of the Gulf-South Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church has heard many of these statements:
• “The teaching is too shallow at evangelical camps”
• “The teaching assumes a base-line of faith in Jesus at more theologically adept camps”
• “Camp costs are out of control”
• “My students don’t love what we are doing”
• “I don’t trust the theological perspective of other camps enough to try them out”
• “I wish the EPC offered something”
Why can’t there be a summer camp that is geared towards presenting the Gospel in a clear and challenging way for our “unchurched kids,” but also offer something tailored to the furthering sanctification of our students who are already established in their faith? We believe this balance is not only necessary but also attainable.
